Prepositions are the words that show relationships between nouns or pronouns and other words in a sentence. 


They help us understand:

  • Positions

  • Locations

  • Directions

  • The timing of things

  1. Time tips

    ✅ “Let’s meet ON Monday AT 2PM IN October.”

    ON: the calendar 

    AT: a certain time 

    IN: a month


  2. Deadlines

    ❌ “Send it until Friday.”

    ✅ “Send it BY Friday.”

    💡 “By” = deadline. “Until” = duration.


  3. Places and platforms

    ✅ “She’s ON Zoom.”

    ON: the communication platform


    ✅ “He’s IN the office.”

    IN: inside the building/room/box.


  4. Phrases to learn as chunks

    ✅ “IN charge OF,” “UNDER review,” “BY mistake,” “ON time.”
