Section 1: Agreement
These Aurum Borealis Terms of Service (“Terms of Service”) apply to the Aurum Borealis website and all associated services and applications. These Terms of Service are applicable to each Visitor, Client, Prospective Client, Submitting Party be it a Corporate Entity or Individual, and/or User (“Client,” “User,” “you,” “your”). By visiting and/or using the Aurum Borealis services and Personnel (“Aurum Borealis,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), you acknowledge and agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, please do not use the website, any associated service and/or application, or any verbal or written advice therein or associated with Aurum Borealis. This includes but is not limited to all website content linked to and hosted therein, any social media channels or handles associated with Aurum Borealis or any of its subsidiaries, suggestions in content meetings or written communication between any affiliate of Aurum Borealis and client, any persons associated with Aurum Borealis through our online periodical or writers in conjunction with or independent from Aurum Borealis or any affiliated trademark, brand, product, or associated entity.
Section 2: Content and Ownership
2.1 Age Limitation. By using our services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age. For content submission for children under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian should submit and communicate on behalf of the minor. If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that your minor dependent has used our services without your consent, please contact us at info@aurumborealis.com.
2.2 Your Intellectual Property. You recognize and agree that by uploading or providing any content (including but not limited to word documents, images, etc.) through any means to Aurum Borealis, you confirm that you own all relevant rights or received the appropriate license to upload/transfer/send that content. Aurum Borealis is in no way, shape, or form associated with any plagiarized material and is not held responsible for any plagiarism that we discover during our consultancy process. Any damages accrued by the User must be paid by the User Party (or User’s guardians) that submitted the plagiarized material. The Users acknowledge and agree to these terms upon the act of and at the time of submitting the document to Aurum Borealis. User holds full responsibility for the content they submit. Additionally, Aurum Borealis does not claim ownership rights on or responsibility for that content. To provide you with and perform our services (review, edit, custom plans, feedback, etc.), you recognize and agree that Aurum Borealis will need to upload and/or make a confidential in-house copy of your content as we deem fit. Aurum Borealis ensures confidentiality and non-disclosure of said documents. We work on your files in-house, delivering a finished draft for your review. Your content and identity are protected, and we won't use your materials for any purpose other than meeting your needs.
2.3 Plagiarism for Users. Plagiarism will be henceforth defined as content that the submitting party claims as its own when it is the work of another person. This applies to uncited materials and copies of another person or entity’s content across all forms and publication avenues. If plagiarized material is discovered, flagged content will be cited, noted, and communicated to User via the provided User email contact information. Additionally, Aurum Borealis reserves the right to terminate any and all projects and/or contracts with the User.
Furthermore, Aurum Borealis will place an automatic Plagiarism Temporary Hold on your card or account until we have deemed that there is no plagiarized content from your submitted document. This fee is refundable if your content is found to be plagiarism-free. Otherwise, this fee is non-refundable and will automatically be transferred to Aurum Borealis if plagiarism is found. Additional fees may occur depending on the amount of plagiarism discovered. These fees are in place to pay the hourly rate of Aurum Borealis associates who have spent time on your case, which has plagiarism.
2.4 Aurum Borealis Intellectual Property. All rights, title, and interest in and to the Aurum Borealis services which include any and all copyrightable materials or any other content that may be subject to any intellectual property rights under any applicable law (including but not limited to artwork, graphics, images, songs, music, any audio recorded content, video, documentations, inventions, trade secrets, trademarks, logos, other proprietary identifiers, etc. (collectively known as “Intellectual Property”)) are owned by and/or licensed to Aurum Borealis.
Aurum Borealis Affiliates have the right to request contribution credits and citing for their collaborations, as many publications are not possible without the input of an experienced editor. This will be subject to each affiliate and their preference.
Editors may request that their pen name or their legal name be cited as well.
Example: Scientific journals from university publications generally cite editors and contributing parties or anyone involved in the study.
Section 3: Prices and Services
3.1 Prices. Users agree that Aurum Borealis can adjust our pricing if a project requires higher demand or if it requires additional experts within our professional network. Aurum Borealis will carefully evaluate a project and advise a client in advance if the pricing for services increases. Aurum Borealis will remit notice to Users specifying the changes and their effective date. Itemized charges and billing will be provided at such a time that pricing changes are communicated.
Example: There could be two or more authors on a project, which can change the flow, tone, and vocabulary of the document when only one voice is needed. Hence, if this is discovered during our process and the difficulty level of the project has increased, more hours will be required to rewrite and paraphrase the content, so it sounds coherent.
3.2 Rush Order Prices. Last-minute projects that require a first draft review, edit, and return in under 24 hours are subject to time and a half pay for all billable hours. Our editors/writers must be compensated for long hours as this is the US standard “overtime” fee that all Users must be prepared to compensate for.
3.3 Services. We reserve the right to modify and/or discontinue any service by giving prior notice. Additionally, Aurum Borealis reserves the right to reject any projects that are not compatible within the timeframe needed by the User. Furthermore, Aurum Borealis has the right to use as many personnel to complete the project as necessary. Aurum Borealis may require a second opinion on some matters in tight deadlines and by using our service, the User agrees that the project may be shared with anyone trustworthy and deemed necessary, so the project can be thoroughly completed. All Aurum Borealis affiliates are required to sign a non-disclosure agreement for User and in-house projects.
3.4 Sale of Services. We reserve the right to limit the sales of our services to any person, geographic location, or jurisdiction for any reason and without notice at the time of changes. A Courtesy email will generally be sent in most circumstances, but we are not responsible for malicious parties, their actions, and content, nor communicating further with said parties.
Section 4: Privacy
The Personal Information that you provide to Aurum Borealis is governed by our Privacy Policy. Our Privacy Policy details how Aurum Borealis collects, uses, and shares that information when you use our website. Please review our Privacy Policy for more information.
Section 5: Prohibited Uses
Aurum Borealis is founded on the philosophy of international peace-keeping, human equality, and human flourishing aims. Therefore, you are prohibited from using our website and services:
To harass, harm, overwork, or discriminate based on inequality, human rights, hate speech, gender, sexual orientation, gender identification or preference, religion, ethnicity, race, age, region, etc. This is applicable to audiences of intended content and Aurum Borealis Personnel and Associates. Aurum Borealis reserves the right to reject Users based on any other circumstances that may fall under the miscellaneous category of: et cetera. Et cetera is used as an open-ended term, which gives Aurum Borealis the right to protect itself, its contracted employees, and those who may be targeted from said injustices as deemed by Aurum Borealis and its mission statement which is fully disclosed on the Aurum Borealis website.
Aurum Borealis reserves the right to save and use as evidence: any materials, content, conversation (written, verbal, or within comments on projects, etc.) as proof of said injustice, and may be used, etc. as needed to protect itself and any Aurum Borealis associated parties, etc. that are affected as a result.
In any dishonest, unethical, or conniving way that doesn’t align with Aurum Borealis or its ethics therein.
To break any code of confidentiality that Aurum Borealis holds with other clients and of intellectual information, service, or strategy advice.
To make use of our services without payment. Aurum Borealis and all subsidiaries and entities therein lay claim to any unpaid compensation for services rendered.
To illegally monetize your own services, classes, including but not limited to literary or verbal guidance, products, or framework based upon Aurum Borealis’ original and/or unimplemented projects that have not been started as your own, as your ideas, or as your business plans in any capacity. If the aforementioned items are taken from any Aurum Borealis team members, contractors, sub-contractors or our creators, Aurum Borealis is within their full legal right to pursue all monetary and/or trademark infringement and due revenue.
Warning may or may not be provided depending on the severity of the confidentiality breach. The User or User’s assets are subject to investigation and are responsible for compensation to Aurum Borealis via settlement or determination by the court of law or an agreed arbitration settlement outside of the court of law. Aurum Borealis reserves the right to acquire 100% of the assets gained by using Aurum Borealis or any subsidiary entities that result in using pirated Aurum Borealis intellectual property.
To share original Aurum Borealis materials, intellectual business, or methodology/structural psychology or strategy outside of Aurum Borealis with any entities, persons, or products therein without proof of permission. Permission will require both representing parties (Client and Aurum Borealis) to sign *witnessed confidentiality agreements with the names of all client parties involved.
To use for governmental purposes, political gain, or political advancement without the full knowledge and consent of the Aurum Borealis Founders. This also includes performance, editing, and writing for speeches, copywriting, and ghostwriting/ghostediting. Permission will require both representing parties (Client and Aurum Borealis) to sign *witnessed confidentiality agreements with the legal names of all client parties involved. Failure to provide such information will result in negotiation meetings or termination of Aurum Borealis assistance. Aurum Borealis does not conduct any business with any government without knowing the full scope of the project and the intent behind it.
To infiltrate any organization, be it private or governmental: this is globally applicable and is subject to investigative measures by law to protect the safety of all Aurum Borealis personnel as well as suspected victims of any heinous acts.
For any crimes against humanity. The term “crimes” is applicable to any act by a User that is meant to harm another person or entity physically, mentally, or emotionally. Crimes will be reviewed by our ethics personnel and further action or notice may be taken at any given time. If such a heinous act is deemed unethical by Aurum Borealis peace-keeping standards, Aurum Borealis reserves the right to discontinue professional or networking associations and seek counsel and take any necessary actions deemed by their ethics standards.

Section 6: Misconduct
If you believe that a User or any third-party service(s) is misusing any Aurum Borealis services, please immediately report such User and/or third-party services to info@aurumborealis.com. Additionally, you agree that your report shall not impose any responsibility or liability upon Aurum Borealis. At our discretion, we may take action, refrain from taking any actions, or require additional information or documents before acting upon your report. We appreciate any and all information that is shared with Aurum Borealis, its entities, contracted team members, team sub-contractors, experts and/or associates of its subsidiaries.
Section 7: Limitations of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by application law, Aurum Borealis shall not be liable for any indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including any damages from:
Errors, mistakes, or inaccuracies of or in any content
Personal injury or property damage resulting from your access to or use of our service
Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any and all Personal Information stored therein
Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from Aurum Borealis services
Events beyond the control of Aurum Borealis
Section 8: Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Aurum Borealis (including any of our employees) harmless from any demands, loss, liability, claims, or expenses made by any third party due to or that arises from your use of our website or services.
Section 9: Governing Law
These Terms of Service and any other agreements we provide you shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Hawaii State, US Federal, and International Laws. Upon Aurum Borealis' growth, additional state laws, or national branch offices may take effect and are also applicable to said governing law as stated above.
Section 10: Terms of Service Updates
We reserve the right to modify, add, or remove portions of these Terms of Service at any time, and changes will take effect immediately upon their posting on this website. A notice via email will be sent out to Clients of the changes. Please review the Terms of Service when accessing our website and services as needed. Your continued use of our website and services after any updates constitute your agreement to such changes.
