😌 Nervous in interviews—especially in English? You’re not alone.

“What are your strengths and weaknesses?” We’ve all heard that line. At that moment, do you freeze?

Interviews are high pressure. Your future depends on them. And everyone is looking for that shift from anxiety to being cool and collected. You know what they say: diamonds are formed under pressure.

📊 Nearly 70% of employers say they have difficulty finding candidates with the right communication skills. (Source: ManPowerGroup)

So when you narrow down your nerves to a skill that’s learnable. THAT’S when the game changes and you become prepared, instead of being reactive.

Why does this matter? Communicating has just become your most powerful advantage.

And it starts with building the confidence to share your value and what makes you irreplaceable in a company’s structure.

Here’s how to show up strong 👇

  1. Prepare 3 short stories (not scripts)

    • A success you’re proud of

    • A teamwork example

    • A challenge you learned from

Pro Tip: Prep: A. Problem + B. Solution = C. End Result  (Bonus! D. Lesson You Learned)

  2. Use “pause phrases” instead of panicking

    • “That’s a great question. Let me think for a second.”

    • “Let me clarify.”

Pro Tip: Speaking perfectly the first time isn’t a requirement, but illustrating your overall idea is key. Don’t sweat the small stuff. If they’re talking to you, they already like your resume.

  3. Practice answers out loud (not in your head)

Your brain and voice need to work together.

Pick 2–3 common questions and say your answers aloud daily.

Pro Tip: Record yourself and review. This is GOLD.

  4. Think in English “chunks,” not word-by-word

    • “I’d like to highlight…”

    • “From my experience…”

    • “One example is…”

Pro Tip: Be yourself. ChatGPT will make every candidate sound the same 😉

  5. Reframe your “weakness” with honesty + control

“I tend to overthink, but it became a personal asset because I catch the details others might miss, and this makes me a high-trust professional.”

🌟 You don’t need flawless English to succeed.

You want to practice clarity, structure, and presence.

The good news?

Interviews aren’t language tests, they’re just human chats about your professional life journey. Just in a short and sweet format.
